Cyfrwy is a cool mountain peak in Snowdonia National Park in northwest Wales. It's like a smaller friend to the bigger mountain, Cadair Idris. Cyfrwy is found to the west of Cadair Idris. Many people climb Cyfrwy when they are also hiking up Cadair Idris, often using a path called the Pony Path.
About Cyfrwy
The very top of Cyfrwy is rocky and doesn't have many plants. You'll find a pile of stones there called a cairn. People often build cairns to mark the summit or a trail.
The north and east sides of Cyfrwy have very large cliffs. These cliffs are popular for more challenging climbs.
Climbing Cyfrwy
One famous climb on Cyfrwy is called the Cyfrwy Arete. An arete is a sharp, narrow ridge of rock. This climb is very steep and exciting.
To climb the Cyfrwy Arete, you need special skills. You will need to know how to use ropes and other rock climbing gear. This climb is best for experienced climbers.
What's Around?
If you look to the west of Cyfrwy, you can see other peaks like Tyrrau Mawr and Craig-y-llyn. To the south, you'll find Craig Cwm Amarch. All these mountains are part of the beautiful Cadair Idris range.
