Cyriak's Amazing Animations
Cyriak started sharing his animations on a British website called B3ta in 2004. Later, in March 2006, he launched his own YouTube channel.
His YouTube channel is a collection of his creative animations. Many people online, including writers for Wired magazine, have noticed how popular his videos are. Cyriak uses special computer programs like Adobe After Effects and FL Studio to make most of his animations. One of his animations, "MOO," was even featured on the front page of Wired. Another video, "poo pants," shows an animated version of TV presenter Alan Titchmarsh singing a funny, repeated song.
Cyriak also works as a freelance animator. This means other companies hire him to create animations for them. For example, he made videos for the website Sumo TV and a music video for a band called Grand Popo Football Club.
He has also created animations for TV shows. He made the "Spaceology" animation for The IT Crowd and another one called "Goth to Boss." In 2015, he designed the opening credits for the Netflix show W/ Bob & David.
Cyriak has directed many music videos for popular artists. These include "Cirrus" for Bonobo and "Ratchet" for Bloc Party in 2013. He also directed "Putty Boy Strut" for Flying Lotus in 2014, "Meowpurrdy" for Run the Jewels in 2016, and "The Existential Threat" for Sparks in 2020. Two of his videos, "Baaa" and "meow mix," have been watched over 100 million times! Other popular videos on his channel are "Welcome to Kitty City," "Cycles," and "7 billion."
Music and Other Cool Projects
Before Cyriak started making animations, he was already creating a lot of interesting and unusual music.
In 2008, he uploaded a music video for the song "My Territory" by Grand Popo Football Club. This video shows a landscape made entirely from a woman's body. It's a way to talk about how people treat the female body and consumerism. In 2009, a British illusionist named Derren Brown claimed to predict the National Lottery numbers live on TV. Cyriak uploaded a video explaining how this might have been done. His explanation video got half a million views in just one week!
Cyriak has also given talks at events. He appeared at "Flash on the Beach" in Brighton in 2010 and "Reasons to be Creative" in Brighton in 2014.
In 2013, he released a special addition, called a mod, for the old computer game Doom II. This mod was named "Going Down."
In 2018, Cyriak began working on a book called Horse Destroys the Universe. People helped fund the book through crowdfunding. It was published in September 2019. The story is about scientists who experiment on a horse named Buttercup. The experiments give them super intelligence, and they eventually become so powerful they destroy the universe.
On February 8, 2020, Cyriak performed his music live for the first time. He was a disc jockey at the Zanzibar Club in Liverpool.
In August 2022, he released another mod for Doom II called "Overboard."
Awards and Special Recognition
On December 3, 2009, Cyriak won the 2009 E Stings competition. This competition was run by the TV channel E4. He won £5,000 for his video called Recursive Culture.
In 2006, he also received a special mention in a Photoshop contest. This contest was part of the technology TV show Click.
Cyriak has won several Cacowards. These are annual online awards that celebrate the best additions or changes, called modifications, made to the game Doom. He won in 2012 and 2014 for his amazing level designs and clever technical skills. He was also praised for his funny timing.
In 2022, he won another Cacoward for his mod "Overboard." This mod was recognized for being silly and having fast-paced gameplay.
