Mixing Music Styles

Over the years, music has changed a lot. Different styles like hip hop, Jamaican reggae, and Latin music have come together. DJ Buddha has been a big part of this change. He helps connect these different sounds.

He created a popular series of mixtapes called "Caribbean Connection." These mixtapes mixed Dancehall reggae and reggaetón music. He also made the "Tropical Heat" series. Many magazines and websites, like Rolling Stone and NY Times, praised his mixtapes.

DJ Buddha has traveled the world, performing in many different countries. He even released a mix album called "Ultra.Latino." This album quickly reached number two on iTunes Latin charts. His creative ideas help him bring new and exciting sounds to music.

Working with Other Artists

DJ Buddha started working with many artists whose music he loved. He made songs with reggae artists like Mighty Mystic, Mr. Easy, and Mr. Vegas. He also became the official DJ for the dancehall group T.O.K. for about six years.

While touring with T.O.K., DJ Buddha created a remix for the song "Gal Yuh A Lead." This remix featured T.O.K., Beenie Man, and Nina Sky. It was one of his first songs to be played a lot on the radio. He also made special mixtapes for the record label VP Records.

He has worked on remixes for famous artists like Pitbull, Daddy Yankee, Machel Montano, and Lil Jon. In 2004, DJ Buddha remixed Daddy Yankee's hit song "Gasolina." This remix included Pitbull and N.O.R.E.. Later, Lil Jon added his voice to the remix, which appeared on his album Crunk Juice.

DJ Buddha became Pitbull's official DJ and toured with him for six years. He helped with the 25th anniversary of Michael Jackson's Bad album. He worked on the 2012 version of "Bad" with Afrojack and Pitbull. He also helped produce "Back In Time," the theme song for the Men In Black 3 movie. In 2014, DJ Buddha won a Grammy Award for his work on the song "Echa Pa'lla (Manos Pa'rriba)" by Pitbull featuring Papayo.

In 2016, DJ Buddha was the music supervisor for the movie King of the Dancehall (film), directed by Nick Cannon. In 2017, he released his first single, "WAAR," with dancehall artist Munga. This song has been streamed over 15 million times on Spotify.
