DeKaylin Zecharius "DK" Metcalf (born December 14, 1997) is an American professional football player. He plays as a wide receiver for the Seattle Seahawks in the National Football League (NFL). Before joining the NFL, he played college football for the Ole Miss Rebels.
DK Metcalf was born and grew up in Oxford, Mississippi. He played football at Oxford High School and later at the University of Mississippi, also known as Ole Miss. He played for Ole Miss for three seasons. Then, he decided to enter the 2019 NFL draft. The Seahawks picked him in the second round. Metcalf has been chosen for the All-Pro team once and the Pro Bowl twice.

Early Life and High School Football
DK Metcalf was born on December 14, 1997, in Oxford, Mississippi. His father, Terrence Metcalf, also played college football at Ole Miss. Terrence was an offensive lineman in the NFL for teams like the Bears.
Metcalf went to Oxford High School in Oxford, Mississippi. During his time playing high school football, he caught 224 passes. These catches gained him 3,302 yards and led to 49 touchdowns. Experts saw him as a top player. He was ranked as the No. 14 wide receiver prospect by Rivals.com. He chose to play college football at the University of Mississippi.
College Football Career at Ole Miss
In 2016, Metcalf started playing for Ole Miss as a freshman. He played in the first two games. However, he got a foot injury that ended his season early. He was given a redshirt year because of his injury. He had two catches for 13 yards, both for touchdowns.
In 2017, he played in 12 games. He caught 39 passes for 646 yards and scored seven touchdowns. During the 2018 season, Metcalf had 26 catches for 569 yards. His season ended early again due to a neck injury. This happened in a game against Arkansas.

2019 Season: Rookie Success
The Seattle Seahawks picked Metcalf in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He was the 64th player chosen overall. On May 22, 2019, Metcalf signed a four-year contract with the Seahawks. The deal was worth $4.6 million.
Metcalf played his first NFL game on September 8, 2019. It was against the Cincinnati Bengals. He caught four passes for 89 yards. The Seahawks won the game 21–20. This set a new team record for most receiving yards by a player in their first NFL game. He broke the record held by Hall of Famer Steve Largent.

Beyond Football: Personal Life
After a TV announcer mistakenly called him "Decaf Metcalf," DK Metcalf teamed up with Volcanica Coffee. Starting in December 2019, they began selling coffee called "Decaf Metcalf." A part of the money from these coffee sales goes to Prison Fellowship.
Metcalf is a born-again Christian.
On February 17, 2023, Metcalf showed off his athletic skills in a different sport. He played in the NBA All-Star Weekend Celebrity Game. He scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. He also had four blocks and some exciting dunks. His team won 81–78. Because of his great play, he earned the Most Valuable Player award for the game.
