Dahi puri is a yummy Indian snack. It is very popular, especially in the state of Maharashtra in India. This dish is a type of chaat, which means it's a savory street snack. Dahi puri first came from the city of Mumbai.
It is made with small, crispy puri shells. These are the same shells used for another popular snack called pani puri. You can often find both Dahi puri and pani puri sold by the same street food vendors.

How to Make Dahi Puri
Making Dahi puri is like building a delicious little snack! Here's how it's usually done:
Starting with the Puri Shell
First, a small hole is made in the top of a round, crispy puri shell. This shell is then partly filled with a tasty mix. This mix is usually made from mashed potatoes or chickpeas.
Adding Flavors and Sauces
Next, a tiny bit of turmeric powder or chilli powder can be added. A pinch of salt also helps with the taste. Then, two kinds of yummy sauces are poured inside. One is a sweet tamarind chutney. The other is a spicy green chutney.
The Final Touches
Finally, a generous amount of sweetened, beaten yogurt (called dahi) is poured over the puri. To make it even better, it's topped with crushed sev. Sev are crunchy, noodle-like bits. Other toppings include moong dal, bright pomegranate seeds, and fresh, chopped coriander leaves.
How to Eat Dahi Puri
Dahi puri usually comes with 5 or 6 pieces on one plate. Unlike pani puri, which is often served one piece at a time, you get a whole plate of Dahi puri at once. Each Dahi puri is meant to be eaten whole. This way, you can taste all the different flavors and textures together. It's a mix of sweet, spicy, tangy, and crunchy!
