Daniel Jacob Stern (born August 28, 1957) is an American actor, artist, director, and screenwriter. He is well-known for playing Marv Murchins in the movies Home Alone (1990) and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992). He also played Phil Berquist in City Slickers (1991) and City Slickers II: The Legend of Curly's Gold (1994). Many people recognize his voice as the adult Kevin Arnold on the TV show The Wonder Years. He also voiced Dilbert in the animated series. Daniel Stern directed his first movie, Rookie of the Year, in 1993.

Early Life and Acting Start
Daniel Stern was born in Bethesda, Maryland. His father was a social worker, and his mother ran a day care center. He has a brother named David M. Stern, who is a television writer.
When he was in high school, Daniel Stern loved being in school plays. He performed in shows like Promises, Promises and Fiddler on the Roof. After high school, he moved to New York City to pursue acting. He took acting classes and soon started performing in plays both Off-Broadway and on Broadway. He acted in many different theater productions.

Daniel Stern is especially known for his funny roles. He played Phil Berquist in the popular City Slickers movies. He also played Marv, one of the clumsy burglars, in the first two Home Alone films. He worked alongside Joe Pesci in these movies. Stern decided not to return for the fourth Home Alone movie because he felt the script was not as good as the originals. He also starred as Max in the movie Bushwhacked.

Many people know Daniel Stern's voice from the TV series The Wonder Years. He was the narrator, playing the adult Kevin Arnold who looked back on his childhood.
