David Giménez Carreras was born in Barcelona, Spain, in 1964. He is a talented conductor from Spain. A conductor is like the leader of an orchestra or opera. They guide the musicians to play together and create beautiful music. David Giménez Carreras is currently the Music Director of the Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès. He is also a main guest conductor for the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra. He is the nephew of the famous tenor (a type of male singer) José Carreras. David has conducted many of his uncle's concerts. One big concert was in Barcelona in 1998. About 50,000 people attended this outdoor event. It marked the 10th anniversary of the José Carreras International Leukemia Foundation. This foundation helps people who have leukemia.
