Davie is a town in Broward County, Florida, USA. It's about 24 miles north of Miami. In 2020, about 105,691 people lived there. This makes Davie one of the largest towns in Florida by population. It's also a main part of the larger Miami metropolitan area.
Davie is known for its "Western" feel. You'll often see people horseback riding here. Many old buildings look like ranches, giving the town a unique Western style.

History of Davie, Florida
Long ago, before Europeans came, the Tequesta people lived in the area that is now Davie. Scientists have found old campsites and graves here. Some of these are 5,000 to 7,000 years old!
When Spanish settlers arrived, many Tequesta people died. The few who remained either went to Havana with the Spanish or joined the Seminoles who came later.
The town was first called "Zona." But soon, people changed the name to "Davie." This was to thank Robert Parsell Davie. He built a school and helped the community in many other ways.

Davie is located in Florida at about 26°4′53″N 80°16′49″W.
The town covers a total area of about 92.5 square kilometers (35.77 square miles). Most of this area is land, about 90.4 square kilometers (34.89 square miles). The rest, about 2.2 square kilometers (0.87 square miles), is water.
