Davon Coleman, born on January 11, 1991, is an American professional football player. He plays as a defensive tackle, which is a position on the defense that tries to stop the other team's offense. Davon went to Fort Scott Community College and then Arizona State University for college. He has played for several teams in both the National Football League (NFL) in the U.S. and the Canadian Football League (CFL) in Canada.

Early Life and High School
Davon Coleman grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. He went to Glenville High School. While in high school, he was a talented athlete. In his final year, he earned special recognition for his football skills. Davon also enjoyed and competed in wrestling.
College Football Career
Davon started his college football journey at Fort Scott Community College. In his first year playing, he made 65 tackles. A tackle is when a defensive player stops the player with the ball. He also had 2.5 sacks, which means he tackled the opposing quarterback behind the line of scrimmage.
After one year, Davon moved to Arizona State University. As a sophomore, he played in 13 games. He made 42 tackles and 2.5 sacks. He showed his strength by making 5 tackles against the University of Southern California.
In his junior year, Davon mostly played as a defensive end. This position also tries to get to the quarterback. He had a great season with 66 tackles and 5 sacks. He even blocked an extra point attempt by the other team. He made 10 tackles against the University of Southern California. He also had 2 sacks in a game against Washington State University.
For his senior year, Davon moved back to defensive tackle. He started all 13 games. He had 58 tackles and led his team with 8.5 sacks. In one game, he even scored his first touchdown! He caught a short pass near the goal line. He finished his college career with 166 tackles and 16 sacks.

Davon Coleman has played for many professional football teams. He started in the NFL and then moved to the CFL.
Dallas Cowboys
After college, the Dallas Cowboys signed Davon in 2014. He made his NFL debut in the first game of the season. He played in two games before a knee injury slowed him down. He later joined their practice squad. A practice squad is a group of players who train with the team but are not on the main roster.
Chicago Bears
In December 2015, Davon joined the Chicago Bears practice squad.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed Davon in early 2016. He was later released by the team in May.
New York Giants
Davon then signed with the New York Giants in July 2016. He was with the team for a short time before being released in August.
Hamilton Tiger-Cats

BC Lions
In 2018, Davon was traded to the BC Lions. He had a fantastic season, playing in all 18 games. He made 57 tackles and had 8 sacks. He continued to play for the Lions in 2019.
Toronto Argonauts
Later in 2019, Davon was traded to the Toronto Argonauts. He played in six games for them. He made 16 tackles and had 2 sacks.
Ottawa Redblacks
Davon signed with the Ottawa Redblacks in 2021. He played in all 14 games that season. He made 32 tackles and had 4 sacks. In 2022, he continued to play well. He made 16 tackles and had 4 sacks. On September 2, 2022, he scored his first career touchdown in the CFL! He picked up a fumble and ran it seven yards into the end zone. He was released by the team in February 2023.
