De Kalb is a town in Mississippi, USA. It is the "county seat" of Kemper County. This means it is the main town where the county government is located. In 2020, about 877 people lived in De Kalb.
The town is named after General Johann de Kalb. He was a military officer from France. General de Kalb helped the American army during the American Revolutionary War.

Two main roads pass through the town. Mississippi Highway 16 goes through the north side. It connects De Kalb to Scooba (about 11 miles east) and Philadelphia (about 28 miles west).
Mississippi Highway 39, also called Main Avenue, goes right through the center of De Kalb. It leads north to Shuqualak (about 19 miles away) and south to Meridian (about 30 miles away).
