Deary is a small city in Latah County, Idaho. In 2010, about 506 people lived there. It is located about 24 miles (39 km) east of Moscow and 43 miles (69 km) northeast of Lewiston.

History of Deary
Deary started as a small stop for travelers heading to the forests near Bovill, Idaho. This spot was first known as "Spud Hill" and then "Anderson".
The town was renamed "Deary" in 1907 when the railroad arrived. It was named after William Deary, who worked in the lumber business. A post office opened in Deary the same year.
Geography of Deary
Deary is located at the bottom of a place called Potato Hill, or "Spud Hill" by local people. It's a great spot for outdoor fun like camping and fishing, found between Spring Valley Reservoir and Moose Creek.
The city covers about 0.65 square miles (1.7 square kilometers) of land.
