Delvin Lionel Breaux, born on October 25, 1989, is a former American football player. He played as a cornerback in two major leagues: the Canadian Football League (CFL) and the National Football League (NFL). Delvin played for several teams, including the Louisiana Bayou Vipers, New Orleans VooDoo, Hamilton Tiger-Cats, New Orleans Saints, and BC Lions.

Early Life and High School Football
Delvin Breaux grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana. He went to McDonogh 35 High School. During a high school football game in 2006, Delvin had a serious injury. He hurt some bones in his neck, called vertebrae.
Doctors were amazed that he was okay after such a serious injury. Before this, he had earned a scholarship to play football for the LSU Tigers. Even though he was injured, LSU still honored his scholarship. Delvin went to LSU in 2008. He was never cleared to play in games for the Tigers. He helped the team as a player-coach for a while before leaving LSU.
Delvin Breaux's Professional Football Career
Playing for the Louisiana Bayou Vipers
In 2012, Delvin Breaux started his professional career. He played for the Louisiana Bayou Vipers. This team was part of the Gridiron Developmental Football League (GDFL). Delvin played so well that he was named an All-Star that year.
Time with the New Orleans VooDoo
After playing for the Vipers, Delvin joined the New Orleans VooDoo. This team was in the Arena Football League (AFL). He signed with them in November 2012. He played for the VooDoo until May 2013.
First Time with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats
In May 2013, Delvin Breaux signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. This team plays in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played for the Tiger-Cats for two seasons. In the 2014 season, he was recognized as a CFL All-Star for his great performance.
Playing for the New Orleans Saints
Delvin left the Hamilton Tiger-Cats to join the New Orleans Saints. He signed with the NFL team in January 2015.
In his very first game with the Saints, he recovered a fumble. This happened on September 13 against the Arizona Cardinals. Later that season, he got his first career interception against the Philadelphia Eagles. Delvin was given the Ed Block Courage Award for the 2015 season. This award goes to players who show courage and leadership. He finished his first NFL year with 45 tackles and 3 interceptions. Fans even voted him the team's best defensive player.
In 2016, Delvin faced another injury. He broke a bone in his lower leg, called a fibula, during the first game of the season. He missed several games because of this. Later that year, he also hurt his shoulder. He was placed on injured reserve in December 2016.
In August 2017, Delvin broke his fibula again, in the same leg. He was expected to miss about six weeks. At first, doctors thought it was just a bruise. But when he wasn't getting better, an X-ray showed the break. He was placed on injured reserve again in September 2017.
Second Time with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats
Delvin Breaux returned to the CFL in June 2018. He signed a one-year contract with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats again. His contract made him one of the highest-paid defensive players in the Canadian league.
Delvin announced he was retiring from football in March 2021. However, he decided to return to play in January 2022. He was released by the Tiger-Cats in February 2022.
Time with the BC Lions
After leaving Hamilton, Delvin signed with the BC Lions in February 2022. This is another CFL team. He started nine games for them. Unfortunately, he suffered another injury that ended his season. Delvin announced his retirement from football again in November 2022.
