Devin Singletary, born on September 3, 1997, is a professional American football player. People often call him "Motor." He plays as a running back for the New York Giants in the National Football League (NFL). Before joining the NFL, he played college football for the Florida Atlantic Owls. In 2017, he led all top college players with 32 rushing touchdowns. He also had 33 total touchdowns and 1,920 rushing yards that year. The Buffalo Bills chose him in the 2019 NFL draft. He also played for the Houston Texans.

Early Life and High School Football
Devin Singletary grew up in Delray Beach, Florida. He went to American Heritage School for high school. There, he played high school football and was a very talented player. He ran for almost 5,000 yards during his high school career. This earned him two First-Team All-State awards. He decided to play college football at Florida Atlantic University. Devin's childhood nickname, "Motor," stuck with him through his high school years. He shared this nickname with his father.

Starting Strong in 2016
In 2016, his first year, he ran for 1,021 yards. He averaged 6.7 yards every time he carried the ball. He also scored 12 touchdowns that season.
Record-Breaking Sophomore Year in 2017
His second year, 2017, was amazing. He ran for 244 yards against Western Kentucky and 203 yards against Marshall. He led all top college players with 27 touchdowns and 162 points scored. He also gained 1,632 rushing yards. Devin set a new record for rushing yards in a single season at Florida Atlantic. He was also a top candidate for the Doak Walker Award. This award goes to the best college running back.
In the 2017 Conference USA Football Championship Game, he ran for 164 yards and three touchdowns. He scored three more touchdowns in the Boca Raton Bowl game. This brought his total touchdowns for the year to 33.
Final College Season in 2018
In 2018, Devin scored 22 rushing touchdowns. He gained 1,348 rushing yards. He was named a second-team All-American by Sporting News. On December 12, 2018, Devin announced he would enter the 2019 NFL draft. He finished his college career as FAU's all-time leading rusher. He also had the sixth-most rushing touchdowns in college football history.

Buffalo Bills (2019–2022)
2019 Season with the Bills

The Buffalo Bills picked Devin Singletary in the third round of the 2019 NFL draft. He joined a team with experienced running backs. However, he quickly earned a big role. On September 8, 2019, he played his first professional game. He ran for 70 yards and caught five passes for 28 yards. The Bills won that game. A week later, he scored his first NFL rushing touchdown. This happened in a win against the New York Giants.
In Week 9, he had a great game against the Washington Redskins. He ran for 95 yards and scored a touchdown. He also caught passes for 45 yards. On Thanksgiving Day, he helped the Bills win against the Dallas Cowboys. He ran for 63 yards and caught a 28-yard touchdown pass. For the 2019 season, he had 775 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. He also caught 29 passes for 194 yards and two receiving touchdowns.
2020 Season with the Bills
In 2020, Devin shared carries with another running back, Zack Moss. Devin still finished as the Bills' top rusher. He gained 687 yards and scored two touchdowns. His longest run was a 51-yard touchdown. He also caught 38 passes for 269 yards. He was careful with the ball, fumbling only once.
2021 Season with the Bills
Devin scored his first touchdown of 2021 in Week 2 against the Miami Dolphins. It was a 46-yard run where he reached a speed of over 20 miles per hour. The Bills won that game 35–0. Later in the season, he became the main running back for the team. Between weeks 14 and 18, he consistently gained many yards. He had 110 rushing yards and two touchdowns against the Atlanta Falcons. These were career-highs for him in a single game. He scored two more touchdowns against the Jets. In 2021, he finished with 870 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns. He also had 40 catches for 228 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown.
In the playoffs, Devin scored two touchdowns in a big win against the Patriots. He also scored the first touchdown in the game against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Bills lost that close game in overtime.
2022 Season with the Bills
Even with new players joining the team, Devin remained the top running back in 2022. He scored his first touchdown of the season with a pass from Josh Allen. This happened in a game against the Dolphins. He scored two rushing touchdowns against the Minnesota Vikings. In Week 16, he ran for 106 yards and a touchdown against the Chicago Bears. For the 2022 season, he had 819 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns. He also caught 38 passes for 280 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown.
Houston Texans (2023)
On March 21, 2023, Devin Singletary signed a one-year contract with the Houston Texans. He started the season as the second running back. In Week 4, he even threw a touchdown pass to Dalton Schultz on a trick play. When the main running back got injured, Devin started in Week 10. He ran for a career-high 150 yards and a touchdown. This helped the Texans win and earned him the AFC Offensive Player of the Week award. He finished the 2023 season with 898 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns. He also had 30 catches for 193 receiving yards.
New York Giants (2024–present)
On March 14, 2024, Devin Singletary signed a three-year contract with the New York Giants. He missed Week 5 due to an injury. This allowed a rookie player to step up and impress the coaches. He finished the 2024 season with 437 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns. He also had 21 catches for 119 receiving yards.
