Dexter Lawrence II (born November 12, 1997), also known as "... Dexy", is a professional football player. He plays as a nose tackle for the New York Giants in the National Football League (NFL). Before joining the NFL, he played college football for the Clemson Tigers.

Early Life and High School Football
Dexter Lawrence grew up in Wake Forest, North Carolina. He played all his high school games at Wake Forest High School. During his junior year, his team had a great record of 15 wins and only 1 loss. They reached the 4A State Championship game.
Throughout his high school career, Lawrence was an amazing player. He made 28.0 sacks, 204 tackles, and forced 6 fumbles. He was considered one of the best young football players in the country. Many top colleges wanted him to play for them. In the end, he chose to go to Clemson.
College Football Career
Dexter Lawrence started playing for the Clemson Tigers in 2016. He played as a defensive tackle. In his first year, he had 55 tackles and five sacks. His five sacks set a new record for a freshman at Clemson. Because of his great performance, he was named the ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2016.
Lawrence was part of the Clemson team that won the 2017 College Football Playoff National Championship. They beat Alabama in a close game, 35–31. He made four tackles in that championship game. After his junior year, Lawrence decided to leave college early and enter the 2019 NFL draft.

Professional NFL Career

Dexter Lawrence was chosen by the New York Giants in the first round of the 2019 NFL draft. He was the 17th player picked overall. The Giants got this pick in a trade with the Cleveland Browns.
Early Seasons (2019-2021)
As a rookie in 2019, Lawrence played in all 16 games. He made his first career sack in Week 3 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He finished his first season with 2.5 sacks and 38 tackles. He was also named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team.
In the 2020 season, Lawrence continued to play well. He appeared in 16 games and had four sacks and 53 tackles. In 2021, he played in 16 games again, recording 2.5 sacks and 54 tackles.
Career Highlights (2022-Present)
The 2022 season was a fantastic year for Dexter Lawrence. He had his first game with multiple sacks against the Chicago Bears. He also earned praise from famous quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The Giants made it to the playoffs in 2022, which was the first time in Lawrence's career. He finished the season with 7.5 sacks and 68 tackles. He was chosen for his first Pro Bowl and was named to the All-Pro team.
In May 2023, Lawrence signed a big four-year contract extension with the Giants. In the 2023 season, he continued to be a dominant player. He had 4.5 sacks and 53 tackles. He earned Pro Bowl honors and was named to the All-Pro team for the second time.
The 2024 season was another strong year for Lawrence. In Week 5, he had a career-high three sacks in one game against the Seattle Seahawks. Even though he suffered a season-ending injury in Week 12, he still recorded nine sacks in just 12 games. He was named to his third Pro Bowl.
