Digimon franchise

Digimon Universe: App Monsters (Japanese: デジモンユニバース アプリモンスターズ, Hepburn: Dejimon Yunibāsu Apuri Monsutāzu) is a cool Japanese story project. It includes anime, manga, and games. It's part of the famous Digimon series, but it's also a bit different. This series explores how technology and smart computer programs can affect our world.

What is App Monsters About?

In the year 2045, technology has become super advanced. The internet is now home to special digital creatures called "App Monsters" (アプリモンスターズ, Apurimonsutāzu), or "Appmons." These Appmons are like smart computer programs born from mobile apps.

Haru's Adventure Begins

The story follows a normal middle school student named Haru Shinkai. One day, Haru finds an Appmon hiding in his Smartphone. This Appmon introduces himself as Gatchmon. Haru and Gatchmon quickly become partners and friends.

Fighting the Evil AI

Gatchmon tells Haru about a powerful artificial intelligence named Leviathan. Leviathan is causing trouble by turning other Appmons evil with computer viruses. Haru and Gatchmon decide to team up and stop Leviathan. They want to bring balance back to their world.

New Friends and Allies

As their adventure continues, Haru and Gatchmon get help from other friends. These friends also have their own Appmon partners:

  • Eri Karan, a rising idol.
  • Torajirou Asuka, a famous online video creator (AppTuber).
  • Rei Katsura, a super smart hacker looking for his kidnapped younger brother.
  • Yūjin Ōzora, Haru's best friend.

Together, this group of friends and their Appmons fight to defeat Leviathan. They work to make sure technology is used for good.
