What is Digimon Data Squad About?
The story of Digimon Data Squad follows a special group called the Digital Accident Tactics Squad, or DATS for short. This team works for the government to keep peace between the human world and the Digital World. Their main job is to send any Digimon that appear in the human world back to their own world.
Joining the DATS Team
The main character is Marcus Damon, a 14-year-old junior high student. He is a strong street fighter who loves a challenge. Marcus joins DATS and quickly learns about the dangers from the Digital World.
Fighting Against Threats
At first, the team believes a powerful Digimon named Merukimon is against humans. However, they soon discover the real problem is a scientist named Akihiro Kurata. Kurata invaded the Digital World and believes all Digimon are a threat. He tricks the government into supporting his plans to destroy them.
The Final Battle
Kurata uses a powerful Digimon called Belphemon to cause chaos. Marcus and his friends defeat Kurata and Belphemon. But before he dies, Kurata sets off a bomb that makes the Digital World start merging with the human world.
A Digimon named BanchoLeomon helps stop the worlds from crashing together. Marcus then meets King Drasil (also known as Yggdrasil), the ruler of the Digital World. King Drasil believes humans and Digimon cannot live together. He decides to destroy humanity to protect the Digital World.
Marcus learns that his father, Spencer, has been stuck in the Digital World for ten years. King Drasil had taken over Spencer's body, while BanchoLeomon protected Spencer's soul. After a big fight, Marcus defeats King Drasil. Spencer's soul returns to his body, and both worlds are saved. All the Digimon partners go back to their own world. Five years later, Marcus and his friends are ready for their future.
