What is Digimon Fusion About?
Season 1: Mikey's Adventure Begins
Mikey Kudo gets a special device called a Fusion Loader. He uses it to create his own team, the Fusion Fighters. He also finds many Digimon partners in the Digital World. There, Mikey learns about Lord Bagramon. Bagramon wants to take over the Digital World. He is trying to collect 108 special items called Code Crowns.
Mikey and his team collect some Code Crown pieces from different areas. But Bagramon manages to steal them. He also gets help from a powerful Digimon named AxeKnightmon. Mikey, his friends Angie Hinomoto and Jeremy Tsurugi, are sent back to the human world. But Mikey soon returns to the Digital World to continue the fight.
Season 2: Facing the Evil Generals
In the second season, Bagramon has split the Digital World into seven kingdoms. Mikey, along with new friends Christopher Aonuma and Nene Amano, work to defeat Bagramon's generals. They discover that Bagramon is using a boy named Ewan to fight against them.
Bagramon is also gathering negative energy. This energy turns the Code Crown pieces into a Dark Stone. Mikey manages to save Ewan and get all the Code Crown pieces back. Finally, Mikey's main Digimon partner, Shoutmon, defeats Bagramon. They then plan to bring peace to both the Digital World and the human world.
Season 3: The Hunters and New Worlds
One year later, Mikey finds a strange new place. It's a world between the Digital World and the human world. This place is called DigiQuartz. A new enemy, Quartzmon, is absorbing data and causing trouble. Digimon Hunters are also active in DigiQuartz. They capture Digimon and feed on negative feelings.
A mysterious Clock Store Owner brings together heroes from different Digimon universes. Tagiru and his partner Gumdramon get a special weapon. It's Bagramon's lost arm, called "Brave Snatcher". They use it to defeat Quartzmon. After the worlds are saved, all the humans and their Digimon partners go back to their own universes. The series ends with Mikey, Tagiru, and their friends thinking about their future.
How Digimon Fusion Was Made
Digimon Xros Wars was first announced in a Japanese magazine in June 2010. It shared the show's name and details about the characters. Tetsuya Endo was the director, and Riku Sanjo wrote the story. The show was very popular in Japan.
The third season had a different main writer, Yukio Kaizawa. To keep the show popular, Mikey Kudo stayed as a main character. The show was also the first Digimon series to be shown in widescreen and HD. It aired on TV Asahi in Japan.
The original Japanese version of the show was streamed online by Crunchyroll starting in November 2011. This allowed people outside Japan to watch it with English subtitles. Later, Saban Brands licensed the series for an English version in North America. They hired Studiopolis to do the English voices. Noam Kaniel wrote new music for the English version.
The English version started airing on Nickelodeon in the United States in September 2013. It later moved to Nicktoons and then to The CW's Vortexx block. You could also watch the first season on Netflix starting in September 2014. The second season came to Netflix in March 2016. The show also aired in other countries like Latin America, the United Kingdom, and Canada.
Other Digimon Adventures
A comic book version of Digimon Fusion was also made. It was drawn by Yuki Nakashima. This manga started in June 2010 and had some differences from the TV show. It was collected into four books.
There were also two arcade games based on the series. These games used special cards. A video game for the Nintendo DS called Digimon Story: Super Xros Wars was released in two versions, Red and Blue, in March 2011. This game was the fourth in the Digimon Story series.
