Dinofroz is an Italian animated TV show. It was created by Giochi Preziosi and the Italian studio Mondo TV. The story is about a group of friends who can travel back in time to the age of dinosaurs. They also transform into powerful dinosaurs themselves! Their mission is to save the world from evil dragons.

Characters

Main Heroes

  • Tom Carter: Tom is the leader of the group. He is brave and confident. His dad, a famous dinosaur expert, disappeared during an adventure. Tom finds a special board game in his dad's lab. This game lets him and his friends go back in time. It also turns them into dinosaurs! Tom learns that he and his friends must stop Neceron, the Lord of the Dragons. Tom can change into a mighty Tyrannosaurus. In the second season, he gets a "Dinowatch." This cool device lets him turn into metallic dinosaurs like a Tyrannosaurus Rex, a Smilodon, a Gigantopithecus (a type of gorilla), and a Raptor. Later, he can also become a Triceratops and an Ankylosaurus.
  • Bob: Bob transforms into a Triceratops. He is very loyal to Tom and loves to eat. He is super strong and great at fighting.
  • John: John changes into a Smilodon, which is like a saber-toothed tiger. He is independent and a skilled fighter. John works as a circus stunt performer, so he is very fast. He helps the Dinofroz a lot by using his natural skills to protect the Rockfroz.
  • Eric: Eric transforms into a Pterosaur, a flying reptile. He is a genius with technology. Eric is loyal to Tom, but sometimes he is not very sure of himself.

Bad Guys

  • Neceron, Lord of The Dragons: Neceron is the powerful leader of all dragons. He is mean and will do anything to beat the Dinofroz. He only cares about himself. He wants to control humans and hurt other animals. He is defeated by Tom in the first season.
  • General Vlad, the Vampire Dragon: Vlad is one of Neceron's top generals. He is an old and very skilled warrior. Neceron trusts him the most. Vlad can shrink himself. He can also turn his enemies into vampire dragons by biting them. Vlad is not completely evil. He is very loyal and smart. In season two, he becomes a general for Drakemon. But he later realizes Drakemon is going crazy and helps the Dinofroz save the world.
  • General Gladius, the Gladiator Dragon: Gladius is another general under Neceron. He seems to be the youngest and not very smart. He always obeys Neceron, even when Neceron takes his powers. Gladius is very strong but struggles to fight the Dinofroz. He is jealous of Vlad. Gladius mostly uses fire powers.
  • General Kobrax, the Serpent Dragon: Kobrax is one of Neceron's generals. He is older than Gladius but younger than Vlad. Kobrax is very clever, but he uses his smarts for bad things. He is sneaky and also jealous of Vlad. Kobrax can spit paralyzing venom, deadly venom, and fire. He can also trap enemies with vines.
  • General Treek: Treek was once a general for Neceron. He is the only dragon who knows that dragons will disappear if Neceron keeps ruling. Because of this, he is called a traitor and put in prison. He tries to start a dragon revolt but fails. Treek later returns in Season 2 as the main bad guy, calling himself Drakemon. As Drakemon, he wants to save the dragon species from dying out. He becomes very suspicious of a spy in his group. Drakemon is defeated by Tom in the final battle.
  • General Artik: Artik is one of Drakemon's generals. He is a white-bearded dragon who looks a bit like a ninja. Artik uses his wings as blades. He is calm and smart but also a strong fighter. He and Petraeus are good friends. Artik is later accused of being a spy and put in prison.
  • General Petraeus: Petraeus is another one of Drakemon's generals. He is a short red dragon with a hammer on his tail. His wings look like shields. He smashes his hammer tail to create shockwaves and uses his wings to block attacks. Petraeus can be rough and aggressive. He is good friends with General Artik.

Other Characters

  • Professor James Carter: Tom's father and a famous dinosaur expert. He went missing while looking for old artifacts. He was captured by Neceron because he knew about the "Door of Time."
  • The Shaman: A mysterious wizard who helps the Dinofroz find pieces of Rockfroz. He also helps them search for Tom's father. He disappears in Season 2 but reappears at the end, living on a floating island in space. This suggests he might be an alien!
