Dobson Collins (born July 12, 1987) is a former American football player. He played as a wide receiver. This means he was a player who catches passes from the quarterback.
Dobson started his professional career in 2009. He was first signed by the San Francisco 49ers. He also played for several other teams. These included the Philadelphia Eagles and teams in the Canadian Football League (CFL). Some of his CFL teams were the BC Lions and Edmonton Eskimos.

Early Life and High School Football
Dobson Collins was born in Miami, Florida. Later, his family moved to Stone Mountain, Georgia. There, he went to Stone Mountain High School.
He played high school football for his school team. In his final year, he caught 21 passes. These catches gained 332 yards and led to two touchdowns.
College Sports Career
Dobson Collins went to Gardner–Webb University. He was a talented athlete there. He played both college football and participated in track and field.
Football Achievements
During his football career, Dobson played in 42 games. He started in 22 of those games. He caught a total of 143 passes. These catches gained 1,754 yards and scored 14 touchdowns.
He was recognized as one of the best players in his conference. He earned "All-Big South" honors twice. This was for his skills as both a wide receiver and a punt returner. A punt returner catches punts and tries to run the ball forward.

Philadelphia Eagles
In October 2009, Dobson joined the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad. He signed a three-year contract with them in 2010. However, he was released from the team in September 2010.
BC Lions
Dobson then moved to the Canadian Football League (CFL). He signed with the BC Lions in April 2011. He played with them for a few months before being released in August 2011.

Dobson joined the new Ottawa Redblacks team in January 2014. He made history for the team. He scored the very first touchdown ever at their home stadium, TD Place Stadium. This happened when he recovered a special kind of kick called an "onside punt."
Montreal Alouettes
In February 2015, Dobson signed a one-year contract with the Montreal Alouettes. He played in one game for them. He caught three passes for 51 yards. However, he also had a play where he lost the ball near the goal line. This ended his team's chance to score. He was released from the team in August 2015.
Baltimore Ravens
Dobson's last known team was the Baltimore Ravens. He joined their practice squad in October 2016. He was released from the practice squad in November 2016.
