Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is an exciting platform video game. It was first made for the Wii U game console. Later, it also came out on the Nintendo Switch. Retro Studios developed the game, and Nintendo published it.
This game is the seventh in the popular Donkey Kong Country series. It continues the story from the 2010 Wii game, Donkey Kong Country Returns. The original game was released on February 21, 2014.

Game Story and Characters
In Tropical Freeze, a group of chilly Viking animals called the Snowmads invade Donkey Kong Island. They freeze the island and kick Donkey Kong and his friends far away. Donkey Kong and his pals must travel across different islands to get back home. They need to defeat the Snowmads and unfreeze their island.
Who Can You Play As?
Players can control several famous Kong characters.
- Donkey Kong: The main hero, strong and powerful.
- Diddy Kong: Donkey Kong's best friend, who can fly with his barrel jetpack.
- Dixie Kong: She can use her ponytail to spin and glide through the air. This was her first playable appearance in a Donkey Kong Country game since Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!
- Cranky Kong: Donkey Kong's grumpy grandfather. He can use his cane to bounce on spikes and cross dangerous areas.
Team Up with Friends
The game also has a two-player multiplayer mode. One player controls Donkey Kong, and the second player controls one of his friends. Working together helps players get through tough levels.
Music and Development
The amazing music for Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze was composed by David Wise. He is famous for writing the music for the original Donkey Kong Country games on the Super Nintendo. Fans were very happy that he returned for this game, as he did not work on Donkey Kong Country Returns.
Nintendo Switch Version
A new version of the game was released for the Nintendo Switch on May 4, 2018. This version included a new "Funky Mode." In Funky Mode, players can play as Funky Kong. He has special abilities that make the game a bit easier for new players or those who want a more relaxed experience.
