Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! (also known as DKC3) is a fun platformer released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). It's the third and final game in the original Donkey Kong Country series. This game was made by Rare and published by Nintendo.
The game came out in 1996. Later, it was re-released for other systems. You could play it on the Game Boy Advance in 2005. It also came to the Virtual Console for the Wii (2007/2008) and Wii U (2014/2015). In 2016, it was available on the New Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console. Most recently, it joined the Super Nintendo Entertainment System - Nintendo Switch Online library for the Nintendo Switch in 2020. A similar game, Donkey Kong Land III, was released for the Game Boy in 1997. It featured the same characters and settings.

Game Versions: What's Different?
When Donkey Kong Country 3 was re-released for the Game Boy Advance, some things were changed. Here are a few of the biggest differences:
- New Mini-Games: The Game Boy Advance version added three new mini-games. These include Funky's Rentals, Swanky's Dash, and Cranky's Dojo.
- Saving Your Game: In the SNES game, you saved at Wrinkly's Save Cave. The Game Boy Advance version lets you save from the menu, so Wrinkly's Save Cave was replaced with Cranky's Dojo.
- Different Music: The Game Boy Advance version has a completely new soundtrack. Some fans of the original SNES game prefer the old music.
- Updated Graphics: The backgrounds and world maps were redone. The Game Boy Advance version is the only Donkey Kong Country game on that system where you can see the whole world map zoomed out.
- New World and Boss: The Game Boy Advance version includes a brand new world called Pacifica. This world also has a new boss, Kroctopus.
- Level Changes: Some levels, like Rocket Rush, were made more challenging. For example, the rocket's fuel meter was changed, and you had to press a button to use its afterburn.
- Saving Lives: The Game Boy Advance version saves the number of extra lives you have. This made the game a bit easier for some players.
