Dorchester is a city in Grayson County, Texas, United States. The population was 148 at the 2010 census, up from 109 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Sherman–Denison Metropolitan Statistical Area.
According to the United States Census Bureau, Dorchester has a total area of 1.6 square miles (4.2 km2), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 109 people, 43 households, and 31 families residing in the city. The population density was 108.9 people per square mile (42.1/km²). There were 47 housing units at an average density of 47.0 per square mile (18.1/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 92.66% White, 7.34% from other races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 11.01% of the population.
There were 43 households out of which 37.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 65.1% were married couples living together, 2.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.9% were non-families. 27.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.53 and the average family size was 3.13.
In the city, the population was spread out with 31.2% under the age of 18, 5.5% from 18 to 24, 32.1% from 25 to 44, 22.0% from 45 to 64, and 9.2% who were 65 years of age or older.
