Douglas Costa de Souza (born on September 14, 1990) is a Brazilian professional footballer. He plays as a winger for A-League club Sydney FC. Douglas Costa is known for his amazing dribbling skills. He is also very fast and good at crossing the ball.
Douglas Costa started his career at Grêmio in Brazil. In 2010, he moved to Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine. There, he won many trophies, including three big titles in the 2010–11 season. In 2015, he joined Bayern Munich in Germany. He won two league titles with them. Later, he played for Juventus in Italy, first on loan and then permanently. He won more league titles and cups there. In 2020, he returned to Bayern Munich on loan.
Douglas Costa has also played for the Brazilian national team since 2014. He represented Brazil in the 2015 Copa América and the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Starting at Grêmio
Douglas Costa was born in Sapucaia do Sul, Brazil. He joined the Grêmio football club when he was 11 years old. He played his first professional game at 18 in October 2008. He even scored his first goal in that same match. By the end of 2008, he had played six games and scored one goal.
In January 2010, Douglas Costa moved to the Ukrainian team Shakhtar Donetsk. He had played 37 games for Grêmio, scoring two goals.
Playing for Shakhtar Donetsk
Douglas Costa signed a five-year contract with Shakhtar Donetsk in January 2010. His first game for them was in the UEFA Europa League against Fulham. He scored his first goal for Shakhtar in March 2010 against Metalist Kharkiv. In his first season, Shakhtar won the Ukrainian Premier League title.

Douglas Costa's International Career

In November 2014, Douglas Costa was called up to play for the Brazil national team for the first time. He made his international debut against Turkey.
