Dunseith is a small city in Rolette County, North Dakota, United States. In 2020, about 632 people lived there. Dunseith is famous for being very close to the International Peace Garden. This garden is a special place that celebrates peace between the United States and Canada.
The border crossing at the Peace Garden is open 24 hours a day. This makes it one of only three such crossings in North Dakota. Dunseith is also home to the "W'eel Turtle," which is the world's largest turtle sculpture. It's made from over 2,000 green-painted wheels!

History of Dunseith
Dunseith was first planned out in 1882. The town was officially started in 1884 by William Dunseith Eaton from Chicago. A post office opened in Dunseith in the same year, 1884. The city became an official town in 1908.
Geography and Location
Dunseith covers an area of about 1 square mile (2.59 square kilometers). All of this area is land. The city is located just south of the Turtle Mountain plateau. This plateau is a raised, flat area of land.
