He played for 14 seasons in Major League Baseball between 1932 and 1948. He played for the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Brooklyn Dodgers, mostly as a shortstop.
After he stopped playing baseball, Arky Vaughan owned a ranch near Eagleville. Sadly, he drowned in an accident while fishing with a friend. Arky Vaughan was a very talented player. He was chosen to be in the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1985.
