The East Side of Stamford is a busy neighborhood in the city of Stamford, Connecticut. It's located just east of Downtown. The East Side is home to important companies like World Wrestling Entertainment and NBC Sports. You can also find offices for big companies like Deloitte here. A special hospital, the Hospital for Special Surgery, also has a branch in this area. Major roads like Interstate 95 and the historic Post Road run through the neighborhood.

A Look at East Side's Past
More than 100 years ago, the East Side looked very different. There weren't many buildings between Elm Street and the Noroton River. However, maps from the early 1900s already showed the East Side's boundaries. These were Glenbrook Road and Hamilton Avenue to the north, Cove Road to the south, Weed Avenue to the east, and Grove and Elm Streets to the west.
Before Interstate 95 was built in the 1960s, the Post Road was super important. It's known locally as East Main Street and is also called U.S. Route 1. This road, which goes through the East Side, was once the most important road in all of Connecticut.
Around 2002, a group called the East Side Partnership was formed. This group helps improve life for people and businesses in the East Side. They work to represent the interests of everyone living or working there.
Where is the East Side?
The East Side is located in a key spot in Stamford. It is directly east of Downtown Stamford. To its southeast, you'll find The Cove. Glenbrook is to the northwest. To the west of the East Side is the town of Darien.

The East Side is home to many people. In 2015-2019, about 8,181 people lived here. The average age of people in the East Side is 36 years old. This is very close to the average age for all of Stamford.
