This means he was recognized as one of the best college players in the country. He led his division with 12.0 quarterback sacks. A sack happens when a defensive player tackles the opposing team's quarterback behind the line of scrimmage.

Professional Football Career
Edgar Jones had a professional career playing for several teams in the NFL. He was known for being a versatile player who could play different positions.
Time with the Baltimore Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens signed Jones in 2007. He played many different roles for the Ravens. He was an outside linebacker, a defensive end, and even a tight end. His biggest impact came on special teams. Special teams are units that play during kickoffs, punts, and field goals. Playing for the Kansas City Chiefs
Jones joined the Kansas City Chiefs on July 29, 2012. He quickly became one of their most important special teams players. He led the Chiefs with seven tackles and two fumble recoveries on special teams. A fumble recovery is when a player gets the ball back after the opposing team drops it.
One exciting moment was on October 14, 2012. He recovered a fumble and ran it back for his first NFL touchdown against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. On August 31, 2013, Jones was traded to the Dallas Cowboys. The Chiefs also sent a seventh-round draft pick to the Cowboys. In return, the Chiefs received a sixth-round draft pick.
With the Dallas Cowboys
Jones joined the Dallas Cowboys in 2013. On October 18, 2013, he was placed on the injured reserve list. This meant he couldn't play for a while because of a hernia injury. He was able to return to play on December 14 of that year. After the season ended, he was not re-signed by the Cowboys.
Short Time with the Cleveland Browns
Jones signed with the Cleveland Browns on July 24, 2014. However, he was released by the team shortly after, on August 4. Edgar Jones officially announced his retirement from professional football on February 25, 2015.
