History of Edgerton

A post office in Edgerton has been open since 1871. The community was named after a railroad employee, Mr. Edgerton.

Edgerton is located along Missouri routes B and Z. It is about 1.5 miles east of the Platte River. The Smithville Reservoir is also nearby, about six miles east in Clinton County.
