History of Edgerton
A post office in Edgerton has been open since 1871. The community was named after a railroad employee, Mr. Edgerton.
Where is Edgerton?
Edgerton is located along Missouri routes B and Z. It is about 1.5 miles east of the Platte River. The Smithville Reservoir is also nearby, about six miles east in Clinton County.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city covers a total area of about 1.11 square miles (2.92 square kilometers). All of this area is land.
