Eduardo Antônio dos Santos (born February 2, 1967), known as Edu Manga, is a former professional football player from Brazil. He played as a midfielder, which is a player who helps both defend and attack on the field. Edu Manga was also part of Brazil's national team for the 1987 Copa América tournament.

Edu Manga had a long and interesting career playing for many different football clubs. He started his professional journey in Brazil and then played in several other countries.

Starting in Brazil

Edu Manga began his career in 1985 with Palmeiras, one of Brazil's big clubs. He played there until 1989. After that, he moved to another well-known Brazilian team, Corinthians, from 1992 to 1993. Later in his career, he returned to Brazil to play for clubs like Paraná in 1996, Sport Recife and Remo in 2001, and Náutico and Figueirense in 2002.

Playing Around the World

Edu Manga's talent took him to play in different countries:

  • Mexico: He played for América twice, first from 1989 to 1992 and again in 1994.
  • Japan: In 1993, he joined Shimizu S-Pulse in Japan. During his time there, he played 32 games and scored 13 goals.
  • Ecuador: From 1994 to 1995, he played for Emelec.
  • Spain: He spent time in Spain with Valladolid from 1996 to 1997, playing 50 matches. He also played for Logroñés from 1999 to 2000.
  • Chile: In 1998, he played for Universidad Católica.
