Ekaterine "Eka" Tkeshelashvili (born May 23, 1977) is a well-known Georgian lawyer and politician. She has held many important jobs in the Georgian government. These roles included being the Minister of Justice, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and a Deputy Prime Minister. She also served as the Secretary of the National Security Council. She worked under President Mikheil Saakashvili.

About Eka Tkeshelashvili
Eka Tkeshelashvili was born in Tbilisi, the capital city of Georgia, on May 23, 1977. She studied at Tbilisi State University and graduated in 1999. Her degree was in International Law and International Relations.
Early Career and Studies
After university, Eka worked as a lawyer for the International Committee of the Red Cross in Georgia. She also worked for IRIS Georgia, which is part of the University of Maryland. From 1997 to 1999, she was a specialist in foreign policy research for Georgia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
She also gained international experience. In 2001, she worked as a lawyer in New York City. From 2002 to 2003, she was an intern at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in the The Hague, Netherlands. Today, she is a senior member of the European Leadership Network (ELN).
Eka's Political Journey
Eka Tkeshelashvili began her government career on February 1, 2004. Her first role was Deputy Minister of Justice for Georgia. This meant she helped lead the country's legal system.
Key Government Roles
In 2005, she became the Deputy Minister of Interior. This role involved helping with internal security and law enforcement. From 2006 to 2007, she was the Chairperson of the Tbilisi Court of Appeals. This is a high position in the court system.
From August 2007 to January 2008, Eka served as the Minister of Justice. After that, she became the Prosecutor General of Georgia until May 2008. This job involves leading the country's public prosecutors.
Minister of Foreign Affairs
On May 5, 2008, Eka Tkeshelashvili was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs. In this role, she was in charge of Georgia's relationships with other countries. During her time as Foreign Minister, she worked hard to find peaceful solutions to problems. She also supported Georgia's goal to join NATO, which is a group of countries that work together for safety. She left this role in December 2008.
Later Roles and Current Work
After being Foreign Minister, Eka Tkeshelashvili became the head of the National Security Council. This group advises the president on important security matters. From 2010 to 2012, she was the State Minister for Reintegration. This role focused on bringing different parts of Georgia back together.
Since 2017, Eka Tkeshelashvili has been the Head of the European Union Anti-Corruption Initiative in Ukraine. This initiative helps Ukraine fight corruption. She also teaches at the Civil and Political School in Kyiv, Ukraine, and at the International Black Sea University in Tbilisi, Georgia.
