Elitettan is a super exciting football league for women in Sweden. Think of it as the second-best league in the country. It's like a stepping stone for teams hoping to reach the very top!
Fourteen different clubs play in Elitettan each year. They all compete to win and move up to the Damallsvenskan, which is Sweden's highest women's football league. Teams that don't do so well might move down to Division 1. This system is called promotion and relegation.
The football season in Elitettan runs from April to October. During this time, each team plays 26 matches. The league started in 2013, and since then, it has helped many talented players and teams grow!
