Ellenboro is a small town located in Ritchie County, West Virginia, in the United States. In 2020, about 222 people lived there.

The town is an important meeting point for two main roads: U.S. Route 50 and West Virginia Route 16. The North Bend Rail Trail, a popular path for walking and biking, also goes through Ellenboro.

Ellenboro got its name from Ellen Mariah Williamson. Her family allowed the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad to build their train tracks through their land. Before it was called Ellenboro, the community was known as Shumley. The town officially became a municipal corporation (meaning it had its own local government) in 1903.

Ellenboro used to have a glass factory and, a long time ago, a very famous resort. However, both of these businesses are no longer open. The town was officially created in the early 1900s. It was named after the daughter of the local postmaster.
