History of Elverta
This community was named after a person called Elverta Dike. Her husband gave some land to a local church, and that's how the name came about.
Elverta is located on land that was once part of a large Mexican land grant from 1844, called Rancho Del Paso. In 1910, a company from Minneapolis bought a big piece of this land, about 12,000 acres (49 km²). By 1912, this land was divided into smaller plots for people to live on. Elverta is also connected to the Rio Linda Bike Path, which is great for outdoor activities.
