Emma Clare Thynn, Marchioness of Bath (born 26 March 1986), also known as Emma Weymouth, is a British socialite and fashion model. She is married to Ceawlin Thynn, 8th Marquess of Bath. In 2020, she made history by becoming the first black marchioness in Britain.
Early Life and School
Emma Clare McQuiston was born in London, England, on 26 March 1986. Her father, Chief Oladipo Jadesimi, is a wealthy Nigerian businessman. Her mother, Suzanna McQuiston, is from England.
Emma grew up in South Kensington, London. She studied art history at University College London. After university, she went to the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art to study acting.
Family Life
Emma McQuiston married Ceawlin Thynn on 8 June 2013. At that time, he was known as Viscount Weymouth. When they married, Emma became Viscountess Weymouth.
Later, her husband became the Marquess of Bath. This made Emma the Marchioness of Bath. She was the first black woman to hold this important title in British history.
Her Work and Career
After her marriage, Emma became the manager of the Longleat estate and its famous safari park. She also started her own food and lifestyle brand called Emma's Kitchen.
In 2014, Emma and her husband were part of a TV show called All Change at Longleat. It showed their life at the estate and was shown on BBC One in 2015.
Emma has also worked in the fashion world. In 2017, she became a brand ambassador for Fiorucci. She also modeled for the fashion brand Dolce & Gabbana.
In 2018, Emma began working as a fashion editor for British Vogue magazine. She also writes for HuffPost.
In 2019, Emma was a contestant on the popular BBC TV show Strictly Come Dancing. She danced with professional dancer Aljaž Škorjanec. They were eliminated in the seventh week of the competition.
