Emmanuelle Béart (born on August 14, 1963) is a famous French actress. She has appeared in more than 60 movies and TV shows since 1972. She was nominated for the César Award eight times. She won the César Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the 1986 movie Manon des Sources. Some of her other well-known films include La Belle Noiseuse (1991), A Heart in Winter (1992), Nelly and Mr. Arnaud (1995), Mission: Impossible (1996), and 8 Women (2002).

Early Life
Emmanuelle Béart was born in Gassin, a town on the beautiful French Riviera. Her mother, Geneviève Galéa, was a former model. Her father, Guy Béart, was a well-known singer and poet.
Emmanuelle has several half-siblings from her parents' other relationships. When she was a teenager, she spent a summer in Montreal, Canada. She stayed with an English-speaking family who were close friends of her father. After the summer, they invited her to stay and finish her high school studies there. They remained good friends.

Emmanuelle Béart got her first acting role in the 1976 film Tomorrow's Children. As a teenager, she had small parts in television shows. After finishing school in Montreal, she went back to France. She then attended drama school in Paris to study acting.
Soon after, she got her first adult role in a movie. In 1986, she became very famous for her role in the French hit movie Manon des Sources. She played a daughter seeking revenge. For this role, she won the 1987 César Award for Best Supporting Actress.
In the 1987 film Date with an Angel, she played the role of an Angel. In 1995, she won the Silver St. George award for Best Actress. This was at the 19th Moscow International Film Festival for her main role in the film A French Woman.
Besides her award for Best Supporting Actress, she has been nominated for seven other César Awards. These nominations were for Most Promising Actress and Best Actress. She was nominated for Most Promising Actress for A Strange Passion and Love on the Quiet. Later, she received Best Actress nominations for films like Children of Chaos, La Belle Noiseuse, Un cœur en hiver, Nelly et Monsieur Arnaud, and Les Destinées Sentimentales.
Personal Life and Activism
In the mid-1980s, Emmanuelle Béart started a relationship with actor Daniel Auteuil. They had worked together in several movies. They got married in 1993 but later divorced in 1995. She has three children, including Nelly Auteuil and Johan Moreau.
She married actor Michaël Cohen in 2008. In 2009, they adopted a child from Ethiopia named Surafel. Béart and Cohen separated in 2011. Later, in 2011, she began a relationship with director and cinematographer Frédéric Chaudier.
Beyond her acting, Emmanuelle Béart is also known for her social activism. She is an ambassador for UNICEF. This means she helps support children's rights around the world. She has also spoken out against certain laws in France. In 1996, she made news for defending the rights of "sans-papiers." These are people without official immigration documents.
In March 2012, Béart talked about plastic surgery in a French newspaper. She said she regretted having an operation on her lips when she was 27 years old. This showed her honesty about personal choices.
