Emmanuelle Béart (born on August 14, 1963) is a famous French actress. She has appeared in over 60 movies and TV shows since 1972. She was nominated eight times for the César Award, which is a top film award in France. She won the César Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1987 for her role in the movie Manon des Sources. Some of her other well-known films include La Belle Noiseuse (1991), A Heart in Winter (1992), Nelly and Mr. Arnaud (1995), Mission: Impossible (1996), and 8 Women (2002).

Early Life
Emmanuelle Béart was born Emmanuelle Béhart-Hasson. She was born in St. Tropez, a town on the French Riviera. Her mother, Geneviève Galéa, was a former model. Her mother's family came from Croatia, Greece, and Malta. Her father, Guy Béart, was a singer and poet. His family was of Sephardic Jewish descent from Egypt. They later moved to Lebanon.
Emmanuelle has a half-sister named Ève. She also has six other half-siblings from her mother's side.
When she was a teenager, Emmanuelle spent a summer in Montreal, Canada. She stayed with a family who were close friends of her father. They invited her to stay and finish her high school studies there. She remained close friends with them.
Career
Emmanuelle Béart started acting in 1976 in a film called Tomorrow's Children. As a teenager, she had small roles in TV shows. After finishing school in Montreal, she went back to France. She studied acting at a drama school in Paris. Soon after, she got her first adult role in a movie.
In 1986, she became very famous. She starred with Yves Montand in the French hit movie Manon des Sources. In this film, she played a daughter seeking revenge. For this role, she won the 1987 César Award for Best Supporting Actress. In 1987, she played an angel in the film Date with an Angel. In 1995, she won the Silver St. George award for Best Actress. This was at the 19th Moscow International Film Festival for her role in A French Woman.
Besides her win for Best Supporting Actress, she has been nominated for seven other César Awards. These nominations were for Most Promising Actress and Best Actress. She was nominated for Most Promising Actress for A Strange Passion and Love on the Quiet. She later received Best Actress nominations for Children of Chaos, La Belle Noiseuse, Un cœur en hiver, Nelly et Monsieur Arnaud, and Les Destinées Sentimentales.

Personal Life
In the mid-1980s, Emmanuelle Béart started a relationship with actor Daniel Auteuil. They had worked together in several films. They got married in 1993 but divorced in 1995. She has three children. These include Nelly Auteuil (born around 1993) and Johan Moreau (born around 1996).
She married actor Michaël Cohen in 2008. In 2009, they adopted a child from Ethiopia named Surafel. Béart and Cohen separated in 2011. In 2011, she began a relationship with director Frédéric Chaudier.
Beyond her acting, Béart is known for her social activism. She is an ambassador for UNICEF. She has also spoken out against France's laws about immigration. In 1996, she was part of a group that occupied a church in Paris. They were defending the rights of people without legal papers.
In 2012, Béart spoke about her experience with plastic surgery. She said she regretted having an operation on her lips in 1990.
