Epiquerez was a small village, once a separate local area (called a municipality) in the beautiful Jura canton of Switzerland. It was located in the Franches-Montagnes district.
Since January 1, 2009, Epiquerez is no longer a separate municipality. It became part of a new, larger municipality called Clos du Doubs. This change happened to combine smaller communities into bigger ones.

What Was Epiquerez?
Epiquerez was a small municipality, which is like a town or village that has its own local government. It managed its own services and local rules. This is common in Switzerland, where many small communities have their own local councils.
The village was nestled in the Jura canton, which is one of the 26 cantons (states) that make up Switzerland. The Jura canton is known for its lovely landscapes and quiet villages.
Becoming Part of Clos du Doubs
In 2009, Epiquerez joined with several other nearby villages to form the new municipality of Clos du Doubs. This merger helped these small communities work together more efficiently. It also allowed them to share resources and services.
The new municipality of Clos du Doubs is now part of the Porrentruy District. This district is another administrative area within the Jura canton.
Where Was Epiquerez Located?
Epiquerez was situated in the Franches-Montagnes district. This area is famous for its rolling hills, forests, and open pastures. It's a very scenic part of Switzerland.
The village itself was quite high up. Its elevation was about 878 meters (around 2,881 feet) above sea level. This means it was located in a hilly or mountainous region.
