Saint-Brais is a small town, also called a municipality, located in the Franches-Montagnes area of the Jura canton in Switzerland. It is a quiet place with a rich history and beautiful natural surroundings.

History of Saint-Brais
Saint-Brais was first mentioned in old records in 1275. Back then, it was known as Sem Bris. For a while, it also had a German name, St Brix, but this name is no longer used today.
Geography and Nature
Saint-Brais covers an area of about 15.19 square kilometers (about 5.86 square miles). A large part of this land, almost half, is used for farming. Another big part is covered by forests.
The municipality is located in the Franches-Montagnes district. It stretches from the high valleys of the Franches-Montagnes down to the banks of the Doubs river. Saint-Brais includes the main village and many scattered small groups of houses called hamlets, along with individual farmhouses.
Some nearby towns, including Le Bémont, Les Bois, and Montfaucon, are thinking about joining together with Saint-Brais in the future. They might form a new, larger municipality called Franches-Montagnes.
Coat of Arms
The official symbol, or blazon, of Saint-Brais shows Saint Brice as a bishop. He is wearing silver clothes and has a golden halo, holding a special staff called a crosier. He stands on golden hills. The village's name comes from Saint Brice, who was an important bishop in the 5th century.

After lower Secondary, students can choose to go to an upper Secondary school for three or four years, or they can start an apprenticeship to learn a trade.
During the 2009–10 school year, there was one kindergarten class in Saint-Brais. However, there were no primary school classes in the municipality, so those students attended school in a nearby town. All secondary school students from Saint-Brais also attend school in other municipalities, as there are only nine secondary schools in the entire canton.
