Eric Alexander (born February 8, 1982) is a former American football player. He played as a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL). He was part of teams like the New England Patriots, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Cleveland Browns. Before playing professionally, he played college football at Louisiana State University for the LSU Tigers football team.

Early Life and Sports
Eric Alexander went to Stephen F. Austin High School in Port Acres, Texas. He was a talented athlete there. He played football as a running back and safety. He also played baseball and ran track and field. He was recognized as a top player in his area.
College Football Career
Eric went to Louisiana State University (LSU) in 2000. For his first few years, he was a backup player. He also helped out on special teams, which are plays like kickoffs and punts.
In his senior year, 2003, Eric changed his position to linebacker. That year was very special for LSU. Eric helped his team win the national championship! He made 65 tackles and five sacks during that amazing season.
Playing in the NFL
After college, Eric Alexander joined the New England Patriots in 2004. He was signed as an undrafted free agent, meaning he wasn't picked in the main NFL draft.
Time with the Patriots
Eric spent several seasons with the Patriots. He often started on the team's practice squad. This is a group of players who train with the team but aren't on the main roster. He would sometimes get called up to play in games.
In 2006, Eric made the Patriots' main team for the first time at the start of the season. He played in 14 games that year, which was his career high. He even started his first NFL game in the AFC Championship. He made 10 tackles in that important game.
