Eric Alexander Wareheim (born April 7, 1976) is a funny American comedian, actor, writer, director, and musician. He is famous for being one half of the comedy team Tim & Eric, with his partner Tim Heidecker. Eric also played a character named Arnold in the Netflix show Master of None.

Early Life and School

Eric Wareheim was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on April 7, 1976. His parents are Dave and Edeltraud Wareheim, and he has a sister named Jessica. When Eric was young, his family moved to Audubon, Pennsylvania, where he grew up. His grandparents lived in Germany, and his family often visited them there.

He went to Methacton High School in Norristown, Pennsylvania. Later, he studied at Temple University. This is where he met Tim Heidecker, who would become his comedy partner. Eric also made his first film while at college.

Eric's Career

Tim & Eric Comedy Shows

Eric Wareheim and Tim Heidecker created, wrote, and starred in a show called Tom Goes to the Mayor. This show used simple animation and was shown on Adult Swim on Cartoon Network. Eric and Tim sent an early version of their show to comedian Bob Odenkirk. He liked it and helped them sell it to Cartoon Network.

Their comedy became even more popular with Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!. This show first aired on February 11, 2007. It was a mix of live acting, short skits, animation, and funny phone calls. Eric and Tim called it the "nightmare version of television."

In 2008, they started working on a strange game show with Neil Hamburger. Eric said it was like a mix of a "bizarre Japanese game show" and The Price Is Right. However, the TV channel decided not to air it.

The Awesome Show finished its main run in 2010. But fans got a special holiday episode called "Chrimbus Special." Eric also helped produce a spin-off show called Check It Out! with Dr. Steve Brule. This show made fun of local news programs. The idea for the show came from actor John C. Reilly.

Eric also helped write, direct, and star in the movie Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie with Tim Heidecker.

Music and Bands

Before becoming famous for comedy, Eric Wareheim played in several bands in Philadelphia. He was in a new wave punk band called Twelve Tone System, where Tim Heidecker was also a member for a short time. Eric also played guitar for a duo called Adam and Justine in the 1990s. He was the main songwriter for The Science Of and played with other bands like Elements of Need and I Am Heaven.

Television Roles and Directing

Eric Wareheim has appeared in many TV shows. He was a voice actor in Aqua Teen Hunger Force and The Simpsons. He and Tim Heidecker also directed commercials for Boost Mobile and Old Spice.

Eric and Tim appeared as funny debt collectors in The Young Persons Guide to History. They also had guest roles in the movie Let's Go to Prison. Eric played a character named Randy in the online TV show Clark and Michael.

From 2015 to 2017, Eric co-starred as Arnold Baumheiser in the Netflix comedy series Master of None. He was in many episodes and also directed several of them. In 2019, he starred in commercials for Oculus Quest.

Other Fun Projects

In 2021, Eric Wareheim shared his love for cooking by releasing a cookbook called Foodheim: A Culinary Adventure. To promote the book, he started a web series called Heimy's House. In this show, he cooks recipes from his book. The first episode even featured his comedy partner, Tim Heidecker.

Awards

Eric Wareheim won a Webby Award for best actor. He received this award as part of the comedy team of Tim and Eric.
