Esther Okoronkwo was born in Abia State, Nigeria. Later, she grew up in Richmond, Texas, in the United States.
Playing in College
Before becoming a professional, Esther played football in college. She attended John and Randolph Foster High School. She also played for the Northeast Texas Community College and Lamar University. Her time in college helped her become a strong player.
Club Football Career
In June 2023, Esther joined UD Tenerife, a professional club in Spain. This was an exciting step in her career. She plays in Liga F, which is the highest level of women's football in Spain.
Playing for Nigeria
Esther made her first big appearance for the Nigerian national team on June 10, 2021. This was in a friendly match against Jamaica.
She scored her very first goal for Nigeria on February 23, 2022. This important goal was against Ivory Coast. It helped Nigeria win 1-0 and qualify for the 2022 Women's Africa Cup of Nations.
