Etzgen was a small town, also known as a municipality, in Switzerland. It was located in the Laufenburg district, which is part of the canton of Aargau. Think of a canton like a state or a large region within Switzerland.
On January 1, 2010, Etzgen joined with four other nearby towns: Hottwil, Mettau, Oberhofen AG, and Wil AG. Together, they formed a new, larger municipality called Mettauertal. So, Etzgen isn't a separate town anymore, but it's part of this bigger community.
What People Did for Work
In the year 2000, before Etzgen became part of Mettauertal, there were 163 people living there who had jobs. Many of them, about 73% (or 119 people), actually worked outside of Etzgen. This means they traveled to other towns for their jobs.
At the same time, 112 people traveled into Etzgen to work. This shows that Etzgen also had jobs available for people from other areas. In total, there were 156 jobs in Etzgen that were at least six hours a week.
