Evan Olav Ross-Næss (born August 26, 1988) is an American actor and musician. He is known for his roles in movies like ATL (2006) and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 (2014). He also appeared in TV shows such as 90210 and Star. Besides acting, Evan Ross is also a singer. He is the son of famous singer Diana Ross.

Early Life and Family
Evan Ross was born in Greenwich, Connecticut. His father was Arne Næss Jr., a businessman and mountaineer from Norway. His mother is the legendary singer and entertainer Diana Ross. Evan's great-uncle was a Norwegian philosopher named Arne Næss.
Evan's parents divorced in 2000. He has one older brother, Ross Næss. He also has several half-siblings from his parents' other marriages. These include his half-sisters Rhonda and Tracee, who is also an actress. His father passed away in a mountain climbing accident in 2004.
Acting Career
Evan Ross started acting while he was still in high school. His first big movie role was in ATL in 2006. In this film, he acted alongside rappers T.I. and Big Boi. He also received praise for his role in the TV movie Life Support. In this movie, he played a troubled teenager and acted with Queen Latifah and his real-life half-sister, Tracee Ellis Ross.
Early Film and TV Roles
Evan Ross continued to appear in various films. These included the thriller Linewatch (2008) and the drama Gardens of the Night (2008). In 2009, he starred as Julie in the comedy-drama According to Greta, where he was the love interest of Hilary Duff's character. He also appeared in music videos for artists like The Notorious B.I.G. and Lionel Richie.
In 2010, Evan joined the cast of 90210, a popular teen drama. He played Charlie Selby, who was Liam Court's half-brother. That same year, he acted in Mooz-lum, a film that won awards at festivals. He then starred in The Family Tree (2011) and 96 Minutes. For his performance in 96 Minutes, he won the Breakout Acting Award at the SXSW festival.
Later Roles and The Hunger Games
In 2012, Evan Ross had a supporting role in the comedy-drama Jeff, Who Lives at Home. The next year, he played music producer Dallas Austin in the VH1 movie CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story. This film was about the famous 1990s girl group TLC.
A big role for Evan came in 2014 when he played Messalla in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1. He returned to this role in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 in 2015. These movies are part of the very popular Hunger Games series.
From 2017 to 2019, Evan Ross had a main role as Angel Rivera in the TV series Star. In 2018, he also starred in a reality show with his wife, Ashlee Simpson Ross, called Ashlee+Evan.
Music Career
Evan Ross started working on his first music album in 2007. After several years, he released his first song, "Yes Me," in February 2011. In May 2015, he released another song called "How To Live Alone," which featured rapper T.I..
He has also been featured on other artists' songs. In 2018, Evan formed a music duo with his wife, Ashlee Simpson. They are called Ashlee + Evan. They released an album together, also titled Ashlee + Evan, on October 12, 2018.
Personal Life
Evan Ross got engaged to singer-songwriter Ashlee Simpson in January 2014. They were married on August 30, 2014, at his mother's home in Connecticut. They have two children together: a daughter born in 2015 and a son born in 2020. Evan is also the stepfather to Ashlee's son from her previous marriage.
