F.C. Barcelona B, often called Barça B, is the reserve football team for the famous F.C. Barcelona. Think of them as the younger, training version of the main team! They play in the Segunda División B, which is the third level of professional football in Spain. This team is super important because it helps young, talented players get ready to play for the main F.C. Barcelona team one day. In the 2014-15 season, they were relegated from the Segunda División (the second division) and finished in 22nd place.

History of Barça B
Barça B has a long and interesting history! It was first started on August 1, 1934, as Societat Esportiva Industrial Espanya. This team was owned by a company that made textiles.
In 1945, the company made a deal with F.C. Barcelona to make this team their official reserve team. This meant it would be a place for young players to develop their skills.
Name Changes and Promotions
The team was promoted to La Liga (Spain's top football league) in 1953. However, they decided to stay in the Segunda División instead. In 1956, they won promotion again. At that time, teams were not allowed to have company names. So, they changed their name to CD Condal.
In 1970, CD Condal joined with another team called Atlètic Catalunya. Together, they formed Barcelona Atlètic. This new team worked its way up through the leagues, reaching Segunda División B and then Segunda División after 1974.
In 1991, the team changed its name again to FC Barcelona B. Later, in 2008, when famous coach Pep Guardiola led them to Segunda División B, they went back to being called Barcelona Atlètic. But when they were promoted to Segunda División again, they changed back to FC Barcelona B.
