Fabian Washington (born June 9, 1983) is a former American football player. He played as a cornerback in the National Football League (NFL). Fabian played college football for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He was chosen by the Oakland Raiders as the 23rd overall pick in the 2005 NFL draft. Washington also played for the Baltimore Ravens and the New Orleans Saints.

Early Life and High School Sports
Fabian Washington grew up in Bradenton, Florida. He went to Bayshore High School. There, he was a talented athlete in football, basketball, and track.
In football, Fabian was a starter at cornerback for four years. He also played wide receiver for two years and was a backup quarterback. As a junior, he made three interceptions and broke up twelve passes. In his senior year, he had four interceptions, 60 tackles, and broke up fourteen passes. He was also very fast, running the 40-yard dash in 4.29 seconds.
Fabian was also a strong track athlete. As a junior, he finished third in the 100-meter dash at the Florida State Meet. The next year, he won the district championship for the 100-meter dash.
College Football Career
Fabian Washington played college football at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. He was a starting cornerback for three years. He left college early to join the NFL. The Oakland Raiders picked him in the first round of the NFL draft in 2005.
Fabian was a top player in the Big 12 Conference. He was named All-Big 12 in all three of his seasons at Nebraska. During his college career, he made 145 tackles. He also forced three fumbles and recovered two.
He was very good at stopping passes. Fabian intercepted 11 passes and broke up 38 others. This placed him among the top players in Nebraska's history for both categories. He started every game as a left cornerback during his junior year in 2004. He had three interceptions and broke up 15 passes that season.
As a sophomore in 2003, he intercepted four passes and batted down 10 others. He also had a career-high 55 tackles. In his first year, as a freshman in 2002, he set a Nebraska freshman record with 13 pass deflections. He also tied another freshman record with four interceptions. Fabian even scored a touchdown on his very first play as a college player, returning an interception 29 yards against Arizona State.
Professional Football Journey
Fabian Washington was chosen by the Oakland Raiders in the first round of the 2005 NFL draft. He was the 23rd player picked overall. His speed, especially his 4.29-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine, helped him get drafted so high.
Playing for the Oakland Raiders
In his first year with the Raiders (2005), Fabian played in all 16 games. He started 11 of those games and made 40 tackles. In his second season (2006), he started 14 games. He had 43 tackles and made four interceptions.
In 2007, his third season with the Raiders, he played in 15 games. He recorded 40 tackles and one interception. After this season, Fabian asked to be traded to another team.
Time with the Baltimore Ravens
On April 26, 2008, Fabian Washington was traded to the Baltimore Ravens. He wore jersey number 31 for the Ravens. In his first preseason game with the team, he made two interceptions.

During the 2008 season, Washington started 12 games. He had 31 tackles and one interception. In a playoff game against the Miami Dolphins, he caught one of the four interceptions thrown by the opposing quarterback, helping the Ravens win 27-9.
In November 2009, Fabian suffered a serious left knee injury during a game. This injury caused him to miss the rest of that season. He returned for the 2010 season as a starting cornerback for the Ravens.
Brief Stint with the New Orleans Saints
On July 31, 2011, Fabian Washington signed a one-year contract with the New Orleans Saints. However, he was placed on injured reserve due to a hamstring injury. He was later released from the team in September 2011, becoming a free agent.
