Early Life and Football Talent
Fadil Vokrri was born in Podujevo, which was part of Yugoslavia at the time. He was known for his quick moves and powerful shots, much like the famous player Diego Maradona. He became very good at shooting goals while playing for FC Prishtina.
Fadil Vokrri played for the Yugoslavia national football team in the mid-1980s. He was a very popular football talent in Yugoslavia. He was part of a special group of Kosovan players known as the "Golden Generation" in the 1980s. His team, FC Prishtina, even managed to beat the strong team Red Star Belgrade in their own stadium, which was a huge win for Kosovo.
Club Career Highlights
Fadil Vokrri started his football journey at just 16 years old with a team called Llapi. He then joined Prishtina in 1980 and played there for six years. During his time at Prishtina, he scored 55 goals in 172 games.
He then moved to Partizan in Belgrade, where he was very successful. He scored 18 goals in 55 games for Partizan. He helped his team win the 1986–87 Yugoslav First League title. He also played a key role when Partizan won the 1988–89 Yugoslav Cup, even scoring a goal in the final match.
At one point, the famous Italian club Juventus wanted to sign him. However, Fadil Vokrri had not finished his two years of required military service yet. This meant he could not travel abroad to play, so he had to turn down the offer. He later completed his military service while still playing for Partizan.
After playing in Yugoslavia, he also played for teams in France, like Nîmes Olympique, and in Turkey, for Fenerbahçe. At Fenerbahçe, he played under the well-known coach Guus Hiddink.
