Where is Fair Oaks Located?
Fair Oaks is situated west of the city of Fairfax. It shares borders with other communities. To the west, you'll find Fair Lakes and Greenbriar. To the east, it borders Oakton and Fairfax city.
The main shopping center, Fair Oaks Mall, is right in the middle of the community. It's located near where two major roads meet. These roads are U.S. Route 50 to the northeast and Interstate 66 to the south.
Major Roads and Travel
Interstate 66 (I-66) is an important highway for Fair Oaks. It goes east for about 19 miles (31 km) to Washington, D.C.. If you head west on I-66, it takes you about 61 miles (98 km) to Strasburg, Virginia.
U.S. Route 50 also runs through Fair Oaks. It goes east into Fairfax and Washington, D.C. If you travel northwest on U.S. 50, it leads about 53 miles (85 km) to Winchester, Virginia.
Another key road is U.S. Route 29, which forms the southern edge of Fair Oaks. This route goes east into Fairfax and Washington, D.C. Heading west on U.S. 29 will take you about 17 miles (27 km) to Gainesville.
