Fairfax is a small village in Franklin County, Vermont, United States. It's considered a "census-designated place" (CDP), which means it's an area identified by the U.S. Census Bureau for statistical purposes. In 2020, about 865 people lived in the village of Fairfax. The larger area, the town of Fairfax, had a population of 5,014 people.
The village is located in the southern part of the town of Fairfax. It sits on the north side of the Lamoille River. This river flows west and eventually joins Lake Champlain. Vermont Route 104 is the main road through the village. You can travel about 12 miles northwest on this road to reach St. Albans. If you go southeast for about 8 miles, you will arrive in Cambridge.
