Fairlee is a small village located in the state of Vermont, United States. It is part of Orange County. This village is also known as a "census-designated place" (CDP). A CDP is an area that the government counts separately for population, even though it's part of a larger town.
In 2020, about 198 people lived in Fairlee village. The entire town of Fairlee, which includes the village and surrounding areas, had a population of 988 people.
Where is Fairlee Located?
Fairlee village is on the eastern side of Orange County. It is in the southeastern part of the bigger town of Fairlee. To the east, the village is next to the Connecticut River. This river forms the border between Vermont and New Hampshire. Across the river in New Hampshire is the town of Orford, New Hampshire.
Roads and Travel
You can find U.S. Route 5 running right through the middle of Fairlee village. Also, Interstate 91 is located along the western edge of the village. Both of these major roads go north about 7 miles (11 km) to Bradford. They also go south the same distance to Thetford.
Vermont Route 25A goes east from Fairlee village for about 350 feet (107 meters). It leads to the Samuel Morey Memorial Bridge. This bridge crosses the Connecticut River. Once you cross the bridge, the road becomes New Hampshire Route 25A, which takes you into Orford, New Hampshire.
