Fantastic Four is an exciting animated television series from Hanna-Barbera Productions. It's based on the famous Marvel Comics superhero team. The show first aired on ABC from September 1967 to September 1968. There were 20 episodes in total.

In the series, the Fantastic Four heroes battle many of their well-known enemies from the comic books. These include villains like Dr. Doom, Mole Man, and Diablo.

This cartoon was later followed by another Fantastic Four animated series in 1978, called The New Fantastic Four. In the world of Marvel Comics Multiverse, this 1967 Fantastic Four universe is known as Earth-700089.

The Fantastic Four go to a remote island for experiments. But the Mole Man is waiting! He traps them and plans to sink the world's biggest cities. The team escapes, but Mole Man traps them again. They break free and stop his evil plan, then escape the island for good.

In Transylvania, the Fantastic Four find a ruined castle. Diablo tricks Ben into freeing him, then brainwashes him. Diablo pretends to help the world, but everyone soon realizes he's a fake. The Fantastic Four attack his castle, get captured, but Ben escapes and frees the others to defeat Diablo.

Reed remembers how he first met Victor, who became Dr. Doom. Victor's dangerous experiment went wrong, changing his face and making him swear revenge. Reed, Ben, Susan, and Johnny later went on a space trip, which gave them their powers. Dr. Doom confronts them, tells his story, and tries to get revenge, but fails.

Reed races Dr. Kragoff to the moon for science. Dr. Kragoff and his monkey crew get strange powers and he turns invisible. Dr. Kragoff kidnaps Susan, but she escapes and stops him from hurting her friends. Reed uses a special device to turn Dr. Kragoff into a plastic statue.
09 "Prisoners of Planet X" October 14, 1967 (1967-10-14) 6
A UFO takes the Fantastic Four to Planet X. Their ruler, Kurrgo, asks them to save his planet from another planet crashing into it. Reed makes a plan to save everyone. Kurrgo tries to trick them, but Reed outsmarts him, leaving Kurrgo on the exploding planet while the tiny people and the Fantastic Four escape to safety.
14 "It Started on Yancy Street" October 21, 1967 (1967-10-21) 7
The Fantastic Four face old rivals on Yancy Street. Their enemy Dr. Kragoff and his monkeys capture them. On their way to the moon, the heroes turn the tables, but Dr. Kragoff escapes, leaving them on the moon. They find oxygen at the Watcher's lab. Reed uses a machine to bring down Kragoff's ship, and Susan traps him. Reed then uses the machine to return to Earth.

Dr. Doom challenges the Fantastic Four and captures Susan. The team finds his flying fortress, but Ben turns back to normal, and the others are trapped. Ben becomes the Thing again, frees his friends, and stops Dr. Doom's tidal waves. They chase Dr. Doom back to his fortress and stop his plan to destroy the world.
08 "Behold a Distant Star" November 4, 1967 (1967-11-04) 9
While testing their rocket, the Fantastic Four are pulled into the Skrull Galaxy. After fighting some Skrulls, they become weak and are captured. The evil Skrull Warlord Morrat wants to take over. He offers the Fantastic Four a choice: help him or die. Reed tricks the Warlord into fully charging their powers. They defeat the Warlord, and the Emperor arrives, letting them return to Earth.
12 "Demon in the Deep" November 11, 1967 (1967-11-11) 10
The Fantastic Four defeat criminals working for Dr. Gamma and blow up his secret island. Dr. Gamma gets infected by radiation and turns into a creature. Johnny quits the team for a bit. In the town he visits, people see the Gamma Ray. Johnny defeats it, but then a huge sea monster, Giganto, appears. Johnny rejoins the team, and Ben defeats the sea monster. The Gamma Ray is beaten but not gone for good.
11 "Danger in the Depths" November 18, 1967 (1967-11-18) 11
Johnny finds Lady Dorma and brings her to headquarters. She says she's from Pacifica, an underwater land attacked by Attuma. They sneak past Attuma's forces. Pacifica is losing hope, and Attuma has taken over the seabed. Triton fights Attuma, and the Fantastic Four stop all of Attuma's traps. Triton wins, and Attuma's forces retreat.
13 "Return of the Moleman" November 25, 1967 (1967-11-25) 12
The Mole Man causes earthquakes and makes buildings sink. He also kidnaps Susan. Mole Man expects the others and sends them back to tell the Army to stay away. They stop the Army and find another way into the underworld. Johnny rescues Susan, and they enter the lab. They return the buildings to the surface and escape the exploding caves.
19 "Rama-Tut" December 9, 1967 (1967-12-09) 13
Reed tells Ben about a way to restore him. They go to Dr. Doom's castle to use his time machine. In 2000 B.C., the four weaken and are captured by Pharaoh Rama-Tut. Susan is to be his queen, while the others are mind-controlled. Ben turns back to normal, rescues Susan, and becomes the Thing again. They fight Rama-Tut at his sphinx, destroy it, and return to their own time.
15 "Galactus" December 16, 1967 (1967-12-16) 14
The Watcher cannot stop the Silver Surfer from bringing Galactus. Susan helps the unconscious Surfer, making him think differently. The Watcher has a plan only Johnny can do. Reed and Ben mess up Galactus's Earth-draining machine. The Silver Surfer fights Galactus. Johnny returns with a weapon that makes Galactus understand he shouldn't destroy Earth.
16 "The Micro World of Dr. Doom" December 30, 1967 (1967-12-30) 15
The Fantastic Four are shrunk to a tiny size. Dr. Doom chases them into the Micro World. He tells them about his experiments with a king and princess from that tiny world. The four fight giant guards, but Dr. Doom catches them and puts them in prison with the king and princess. They all escape and grow back to normal size. Ben stops the Lizard Men, and the four return to their own world.
17 "Blastaar, the Living Bomb-Burst" January 6, 1968 (1968-01-06) 16
On a faraway planet, people fight Blastaar and banish him. Reed and Johnny enter a dangerous space zone. Blastaar escapes and follows them. He is too strong for the team. They lure him to an empty atomic power plant, where they use atomic matter to put him in a coma. They send him back through the space zone.
10 "The Mysterious Molecule Man" January 13, 1968 (1968-01-13) 17
The Fantastic Four study a glowing meteor. The Molecule Man appears and threatens everyone. After they feel some of his power, he leaves to take over the world. Reed creates a weapon he thinks will defeat Molecule Man. The weapon works, but Molecule Man gets away. The Fantastic Four keep chasing him. Their plan to stop him is tricky. They use a piece of the meteor to change Molecule Man back to his normal form.
18 "The Terrible Tribunal" September 14, 1968 (1968-09-14) 18
The Fantastic Four are taken to another planet. They are accused of crimes by three old enemies. Reed has to remember how they defeated Klaw, Molecule Man, and Blastaar. Meanwhile, the other three escape and rescue Reed just as the verdict is given. On the surface, they must fight the court judge before they can leave the planet and go back to Earth.
20 "The Deadly Director" September 21, 1968 (1968-09-21) 19
An imposter pretends to be a famous Hollywood director to trap the Fantastic Four. The team is excited to be in a movie and tells him about their past adventures. The next day, they fly to the director's island, and he blasts them out of the sky. The Fantastic Four must go through his dangerous movie sets to reach a boat, which the director blows up. The imposter reveals himself, but the Fantastic Four surprise him. The real director stops the imposter from escaping.
