Ferguson Lake is a beautiful lake located in Ontario, Canada. It is found in the Nipissing District, within the area called Temagami. This lake is part of a very large water system known as the Saint Lawrence River drainage basin. This means all the water from Ferguson Lake eventually flows into the Saint Lawrence River.
About Ferguson Lake
Ferguson Lake is in a place called Strathy Township. It is about 680 meters (2,230 feet) long and 480 meters (1,570 feet) wide. The lake sits at an elevation of 293 meters (961 feet) above sea level.
Where the Water Goes
Water flows into Ferguson Lake from three different places. The main stream that feeds the lake is called Net Creek. This creek enters the lake from the northeast. There are also two other streams that flow into the lake, but they don't have names. One comes from the northwest, near Owaissa Lake, and the other from the west.
The water from Ferguson Lake also flows out through Net Creek. From there, the water travels through a series of other lakes and rivers. These include Cassels Lake, Rabbit Lake, and the Matabitchuan River. Eventually, the water reaches Lake Timiskaming and then the Ottawa River. Finally, all this water joins the mighty Saint Lawrence River.
Nearby Connections
You can find Ontario Highway 11 and the Ontario Northland Railway running right along the western side of Ferguson Lake. This makes the lake easy to access and see from the road or train.
